How does aquatic exercise differ?

Lindsey's expertise in aquatic exercise brings a new, unique variety of fitness to LFT. According to the Mayo Clinic, aquatic exercise lowers the pressure that exercise typically puts on the bones, joints, and muscles. It is low-impact, but it also can help strengthen the muscles due to the natural resistance of water. You do not need to know how to swim, so it is an excellent choice for older adults to stay active.

Health benefits include improved heart health, reduced stress, and improved muscular endurance and strength.

Central Michigan University
The Central Michigan University (CMU) Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science is a science-based program that examines the health benefits of physical movement through classroom learning, lab activities, and an internship. It prepares students for careers in clinical settings like cardiopulmonary rehabilitation or non-clinical areas such as health and fitness, or for graduate programs in physical therapy, medicine, and other health fields. This degree indicates significant exploration and achievement in the behavioral, health, natural, physical, or social sciences.
The exercise science program at Central Michigan University is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation for the Exercise Sciences (CoAES). The Exercise Science undergraduate program demonstrates academic excellence as the first in Michigan to obtain accreditation by CAAHEP through CoAES.
